This week Monica interviews Dr. Robert Festiggi of Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit about the importance of Pope Benedict XVI's recent Motu Proprio, Summorum Pontificum. This Motu Proprio allows for a more liberal use of the Missal of Bl. John XXIII (the so-called Tridentine Rite) as well as reinforces the validity of the Missal of Paul VI (the so-called Novus Ordo) and encourages a more reverent and faithful celebration of it. Although no official English translation exists as of this blogging, we have found an unofficial translation at the following link.

For those who have not experienced a Mass according to the Missal of Bl. John XXIII, you can read an article about it on Wikipedia by following this link or watch the video below which is a Solemn High Mass celebrated in Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Chicago on Easter Sunday, 1941. The film is narrated by then-Msgr. Fulton J. Sheen and is about 1 hour in length. Some of it has been edited.

And, as always, this weeks episode is posted for download at: http://www.archive.org/details/ccforum
